MC11000 Version 2 Upgrade Class (Balcatta)

This hands on class will teach you all you need to know about the version 2 upgrade and an introduction to version 3. Your machine needs to have been upgraded to at least version 2.

Balcatta - Saturday 21st August 11.30-1.30 (straight after Memory Craft Club)

Cost - Free to those who have had their machines upgraded by us. Otherwise $35

NEW Dance Wear with Terrill Mays (Balcatta)

Learn how to sew leotards and tights. You will learn how to handle high stretch fabric with confidence.

Bring in your machine (and overlocker if you have one, and would like to learn how to sew spandex with it) and your fabric and pattern. You will learn how to apply elastic and obtain a professional finish. You can cut out and sew the garment in class with Terrill's help.

We recommend KwikSew patterns and we can bring in any if you would like to order one. Go on line to KwikSew and see the full range. You may also bring your own pattern if you have been given one by the dance school.

NEW Children's Sewing - Easy Patchwork (Joondalup)

Make a doll size "Raggy Quilt" using the quilt as you go method.

Stretch Sewing Course with Terrill Mays (Balcatta)

Lesson 1: Top.

You will learn how to cut out stretch fabric, make the top and learn about different neckline finishes.

Lesson 2: Elastic waisted skirt or pants.

You will cut out the fabric and make the garment in the lesson.

Balcatta - Saturday 28th August and Saturday 4th September at 9am-1.00pm

Cost $130 for two lessons and we will provide KwikSew pattern 3353 for you. It contains a skirt and top pattern.

We will provide tea and coffee. You will need your sewing machine, scissors, thread, pins and fabric.

We have a good range of reduced stretch fabric on sale at the Balcatta store, and a full range of Knitwit fabric at our Nedlands store.

These classes are provided for people who have bought their Janome machines from us. If you have another brand of sewing machine, speak to Wendy.

Patchwork with Liz (Joondalup)

Suitable for any level. Liz Burrowes at Joondalup has a wealth of patchwork experience - a patchworker for the last 19 years and teaching patchwork for the last 9. Liz is happy to work with you on a project of your choice or will have kits available for purchase if you want to start from scratch. Drop in to Joondalup to see some of Liz's quilts on display. Some of these classes are full, but you can put your name on the waiting list.

The Infinity Quilt/Heirloom Quilt (Balcatta)

(Combined class in which you can make either quilt)

Infinity Quilt

This quilt is based on the Infinity Quilt Book.

The focus in this quilt is embroidery and quilting made easy by using the Sewing Revolution products for ease of placement of your embroidery designs. The quilt is worked on the “quilt as you go” method. This method quilts and joins the blocks as you go, making it easier to work with.

Sue Box embroidery designs are used and you will need to own your own copy of the CD. Techniques learnt will be all aspects of using the Sewing Revolution and wedges, embroidery placement, stippling, quilt as you go, and much more.

This quilt can be made to fit a single bed or queen size. All of this is achievable with any Janome embroidery machine.

Heirloom Quilt

Suitable for any Janome sewing or sewing/embroidery machine. Learn more about how your machine works and different techniques that can be used to achieve a beautiful heirloom quilt.

Balcatta - Second Saturday of month - 9.30am - 12.30pm with Terrill - $35 per session. Join in at any time.

Block of the Month (Joondalup + Balcatta)

Suitable for any Janome sewing or sewing/embroidery machine. Come along and learn more about your machine and its accessories.

Create a quilt block which can be turned into a cushion or bag, or come to several classes and make many different blocks which you can join up to make a quilt.

A different block using different techniques will be created each month. Join in at any time.

Balcatta 1st Series - Third Friday of the month with Sharyn - 9.30 - 12.30pm $25 per session

Balcatta 2nd Series - Fourth Friday of the month with Sharyn - 9.30 - 12.30pm $25 per session. This class will be tailored specifically for the Horizon machine.

Joondalup 1st Series - First Wednesday of month with Liz - 9.30 - 12.30pm $25 per session

Joondalup 2nd Series - Second Saturday of month with Liz - 9.30 - 12.30pm $25 per session

General Sewing Classes (Balcatta)

We believe that everyone can learn to sew, given the right machine and expert tuition.  You will gain confidence and have fun at the same time!

To learn how to make clothes, or alter garments, book into these general sewing classes at Balcatta with Valerie.

Bring your machine along and learn at your own pace under an expert eye. You can have help making a garment from a pattern, or perhaps altering a garment to improve the fit, or if you prefer, making a cushion or a bag.

Balcatta Monday, Wednesday or Saturday 10-12

Term 3 starts in mid July - Saturday class on Saturday July 17th, Monday class on Monday July 19th, and Wednesday class on Wednesday July 21st and runs for 8 weeks.

Class fees: $160 per term (either Monday, Wednesday or Saturday) but with no refund if unable to attend. Pro-rata if you join after the term has started. Must be booked and paid for in advance as places are strictly limited and the class is usually oversubscribed.

Janome Memory Craft Club
The club is for owners of all Janome Memory Craft machines.
You do not need to bring your machine to Club - just come along and enjoy yourself. If you have made anything please bring it as well - it really adds to the flavour and interest of the meeting.

The Club session will normally include the following segments:
• Show and tell • Demonstration of a new machine • New products • A new sewing technique • The latest from Knitwit • Question and answer session • A guest speaker segment from time to time • A door prize • Club Day specials • Tea, coffee and biscuits!

Joondalup Second Monday of the month - 10.30-11.30am

Balcatta Second Friday of the month - 10.30 – 11.30am

Free to those who have bought their Memory Craft machines from us

Please note also that all classes are in the first instance for those who have purchased their Janome machines from one of our stores. If you have bought a Janome elsewhere and there is space in a particular class, we will try and accommodate you. In the case of free lessons, there will then be a charge.We reserve the right of admission to all classes.

The Janome Memory Craft Club is free to those who have purchased their most recent Janome Memory Craft from us. In all other cases, there is an annual charge of $100 payable in advance in January.

Class refund policy: If there are insufficient numbers to make a class viable, we may have to cancel, in which case all fees will be refunded. Once the required numbers are reached, the class is confirmed and no refunds will be possible. If you are buying materials for a class, please check that the class is confirmed before going ahead with your purchases.
