New Weekly Embroidery Classes with Terrill Mays

Make the most of you Janome embroidery machine and join in our weekly hands on classes in which you will make small projects. You will gain confidence as you go and learn new techniques.

Balcatta Tuesdays 9.30-12.30pm $25 per session

Joondalup Fridays 9.30-12.30pm (except for the second Friday of the month) $25 per session.

Bathers and Leotard Class

Learn how to make bathers or leotards and how to apply elastic on your sewing machine and or overlocker. Bring your machine or overlocker to class, as well as your pattern and fabric.

Check out the KwikSew range of activewear patterns on the internet and you can order any you need and we will have it at the class for you.

General Sewing Classes (Joondalup + Balcatta)

We believe that everyone can learn to sew, given the right machine and expert tuition.  You will gain confidence and have fun at the same time!

Bring your machine along and learn at your own pace under an expert eye. You can have help making a garment from a pattern, or perhaps altering a garment to improve the fit, or if you prefer, making a cushion or a bag.

Balcatta Monday or Wednesday or Saturday 10-12

8 week courses starting Monday 6 February, or Wednesday 8 February, or Saturday 11 February. Cost $160 per course. Payment with booking please.

Joondalup Wednesday 10 -12

8 week course starting Wednesday 1 February. Cost $160 per 8 week course. Payment with booking please.

Where there is space, you can join in after the start of the course and pay pro rata. If you want to come to just 1 or 2 lessons, the casual rate is $35 per session.

Class fees: $160 per course but with no refund if unable to attend. Must be booked and paid for in advance as places are strictly limited and the classes are usually oversubscribed.

Patchwork with Liz at Joondalup

Suitable for any level. Liz Burrowes at Joondalup has a wealth of patchwork experience - a patchworker for the last 20 years and teaching patchwork for the last 10.

Liz is happy to work with you on a project of your choice or will have kits available for purchase if you want to start from scratch.

Drop in to Joondalup to see some of Liz's quilts on display. Some of these classes are full, but you can put your name on the waiting list.

Patchwork with Sharyn at Balcatta

Suitable for any level. Sharyn is happy to work with you on a project of your choice or will have kits available for purchase if you want to start from scratch.

Sharyn's talents include patchwork and quilting, digitising quilting designs for embroidery machines, and working with quilting frames.

The Infinity Quilt/Heirloom Quilt (Balcatta)

(Combined class in which you can make either quilt)

Infinity Quilt

This quilt is based on the Infinity Quilt Book.

The focus in this quilt is embroidery and quilting made easy by using the Sewing Revolution products for ease of placement of your embroidery designs. The quilt is worked on the “quilt as you go” method. This method quilts and joins the blocks as you go, making it easier to work with.

Sue Box embroidery designs are used and you will need to own your own copy of the CD. Techniques learnt will be all aspects of using the Sewing Revolution and wedges, embroidery placement, stippling, quilt as you go, and much more.

This quilt can be made to fit a single bed or queen size. All of this is achievable with any Janome embroidery machine.

Heirloom Quilt

Suitable for any Janome sewing or sewing/embroidery machine. Learn more about how your machine works and different techniques that can be used to achieve a beautiful heirloom quilt.

Balcatta - Second Saturday of month - 9.30am - 12.30pm with Terrill - $35 per session. Join in at any time.

Heirloom Quilt (Joondalup)

Suitable for any Janome sewing or sewing/embroidery machine. Learn more about how your machine works and different techniques that can be used to achieve a beautiful heirloom quilt. Join in at any time.

Janome Memory Craft Club with Terrill
The club is for owners of all Janome Memory Craft machines.
You do not need to bring your machine to Club - just come along and enjoy yourself. If you have made anything please bring it as well - it really adds to the flavour and interest of the meeting.

The Club session will normally include the following segments:
• Show and tell • Demonstration of a new machine • New products • A new sewing technique • The latest from Knitwit • Question and answer session • Club Day specials • Tea, coffee and biscuits!

Joondalup Second Monday of the month - 10.30-11.30am. No Club in January

Balcatta Second Friday of the month - 10.30 – 11.30am. No Club in January

Balcatta Third Saturday of the month (changed from second Saturday) - 10.30 – 11.30am. No Club in January

For those who have bought their Memory Craft machines from us or are considering a Memory Craft machine from us. If you plan to buy a MC12000 from another dealer, please go to the Club Days at that other dealer. No Memory Craft Club in January.

Baby Lock Club with Terrill
A monthly hands-on session for people who have purchased their Baby Lock overlockers from our stores.

You will need to bring your Baby Lock to each session which will include a project on the overlocker to learn different techniques and to help you get the most out of your machine.

Balcatta Fourth Thursday of the month - 10am – 12 noon. No Club in December 2011 or January 2012.

Cost: $20 plus kit. Booking and payment needs to be in advance so we know how many kits to prepare.

Please note also that all classes are in the first instance for those who have purchased their Janome machines from one of our stores. If you have bought a Janome elsewhere and there is space in a particular class, we will try and accommodate you. In the case of free lessons, there will then be a charge.We reserve the right of admission to all classes.

The Janome Memory Craft Club is free to those who have purchased their most recent Janome Memory Craft from us. In all other cases, there is an annual charge of $100 payable in advance in January.

Class refund policy: If there are insufficient numbers to make a class viable, we may have to cancel, in which case all fees will be refunded. Once the required numbers are reached, the class is confirmed and no refunds will be possible. If you are buying materials for a class, please check that the class is confirmed before going ahead with your purchases.
